What to expect
- You complete a medical questionnaire when you order.
- A licensed provider reviews your history and your answers. They may approve you, decline, or come back with questions.
- If approved, your prescription goes to a licensed US compounding pharmacy, which fills it and ships it to you.
- Your provider sets your dose and tells you how to take it. It is not something you select, and it is not the same for everyone.
NAD+ is supplied as an injectable prepared by a compounding pharmacy against your individual prescription.
Safety and side effects
NAD+ is not FDA approved. There is no FDA-approved injectable NAD+ product, so there is no approved labeling and no agreed list of side effects to draw from. The FDA has not evaluated it for safety or effectiveness for any use, and its benefits are not established. What follows is what has been reported in clinical settings, not an approved safety profile.
Reported effects
- Nausea, flushing, headache, or a lightheaded feeling
- Chest tightness or cramping during administration. These reports are usually linked to how quickly it is given rather than the dose itself
- Redness, soreness, swelling or bruising where it is injected
Before you start, tell your provider if you
- Are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Have any heart condition, or blood pressure that is high or low
- Have liver or kidney problems
- Have a history of cancer
- Take any prescription medicine, over the counter medicine or supplement
If you are injecting at home
- Use a new needle and syringe every time, and never share them
- Put used needles straight into a sharps container, not household trash
- Rotate where you inject to reduce soreness
- Contact a provider if an injection site becomes increasingly red, warm, swollen or painful, or leaks fluid, or if you develop a fever. These can be signs of infection
Stop and get medical help straight away if you have
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing
- Chest pain, or a fast or irregular heartbeat
- Severe dizziness or fainting
